Bio:
Ms. Carrión is a mergers and acquisitions specialist with more than 35 years of experience in the financial services industry. After more than 20 years in New York and London, where she managed funds that invested in publicly listed equities in emerging markets, she founded Multicultural Capital LLC, a mergers and acquisitions boutique in Puerto Rico, with an office in Washington, DC. She leads an all-woman team dedicated to bringing capital to privately-owned enterprises in a sale or restructuring. In the last 15 years, Multicultural Capital, under Ms. Carrión’s leadership, has executed transactions in diverse industries, including financial services, technology, health care, media, manufacturing, energy, hospitality, restaurants and food and beverage. Ms. Carrión has provided more than $2 billion in new capital to private businesses in Puerto Rico.
Ms. Carrión has an MBA from Columbia University, a BS from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and is a graduate of Choate Rosemary Hall. She is certified as a Chartered Financial Analyst by the CFA Institute and as a Mergers & Acquisitions Advisor by the Alliance of Mergers & Acquisitions Advisors.
Ms. Carrión is a member of the CFA Institute, the NY Society of Security Analysts, the Alliance of Mergers & Acquisitions Advisors, the Latino Corporate Directors Association (LCDA), and The Meridian International Center Council. She serves on the board of both Antilles Insurance Company, a Puerto Rico based property and casualty insurance company, as well as Ochoa Realty Corporation, a commercial real estate company also in Puerto Rico.
Ms. Carrión splits her time between San Juan, Puerto Rico and Washington, DC. She is fluent in Spanish and English and is conversant in French.
